Rio Ferdinand announced that he’s not on his honeymoon because “football is always the priority”.
The Manchester United legend married Kate Wright in a three-day wedding party at D Marie Bay Hotel in Turkey this weekend, but is back at work this Tuesday.
Ferdinand, in his role as a pundit for BT Sport, is in the studio for Tottenham’s Champions League group game with German giants Bayern Munich.
And when quizzed about his big day by Gary Lineker had a quick response for the host.
“Rio, shouldn’t you be on your honeymoon?” Lineker asked ahead of the match in north London.
Ferdinand responded: “No, no, no, we will leave that to another time. We have important things to do here in the studio.”
Lineker then added: “Footballer is always the priority, is that right?” to which Ferdinand replied to much laughter from the studio: “Yes, and she knows that!”
