Niall Horan says the One Direction boys would have ended up killing each other if they hadn’t split when they did.

The now solo star says that despite the band’s huge success, they ended up having a series of bust-ups and “s****y arguments’.

But three years after they went on hiatus, he’s sparked hopes that a reunion may finally be on the cards.

The Irish singer, who is due to release his second solo album, told The Telegraph : “It was incredible. But we got tired. Not tired of it, just tired out. I can never really remember any major bust-ups, just brotherly family nagging s****y arguments like that.

“But we were gonna gonna end up killing each other. We all sat down on day, had a chat and it was like, ‘We need to take a break, chill out and try something new’.”

Three years on, he’s ready to get the band back together.

He added: “I’m enjoying what I’m doing, but if one of the lads were to pick up the phone and say,’It’s time, I’d do it’.”

Will they ever get back together?

Niall finished third on X Factor in 2010 with his bandmates Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik and they went on to huge worldwide success.

Zayn quit in 2015, and the rest of the group decided to take a hiatus the following year.

And Niall admits he’s not sure if Zayn would come back.
