Alan Carr says Geri was “outraged at everything” on Drag Race UK

It’s taken a long time, but the UK version of RuPaul’s Drag Race finally premiered last night (October 3) on BBC iPlayer. It was good.

The British version of the show featured a host of queens who were a lot less worried about their language than their American counterparts, and everyone knows that this country’s humour is a lot darker, especially when it comes to drag.

Everyone except Geri Horner, that is.

Comedian Alan Carr revealed that “Geri was outraged by everything” when she appeared as a guest judge.

“This is a woman who, at the BRITs, came out of an inflatable vagina singing ‘Bag It Up’! And she was grabbing her pearls [at Drag Race]! I was shocked,” he said (via The Sun).

“I remember the Geri with the big old tits and Union Jack dress causing trouble – but she was like Maggie Smith in Downton Abbey! I was like, ‘Wake up, Geri!'”

“We’re all common as muck [on Drag Race UK],” contestant Baga Chipz previously told Digital Spy. “[US queens] are all quite pageantry and we’re like ‘well I want a ciggie and a kebab’.

“The catchphrases and the wording are different, like how we say ‘knickers’ and ‘me knockers’, it’s very tongue-in-cheek British humour.”

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK episodes are released Thursdays at 8pm on BBC iPlayer.
